Five Southwest students participated in the Bilingual Seal
testing on Saturday March 11th.
They are now eligible for state recognition for their
language skills. Gold and Platinum Seals are contingent upon English Language
Art credit requirements for graduation, and so will be officially awarded upon
graduation.
They will also be eligible for college credit from Minnesota
State Colleges and Universities upon enrollment in a MnSCU school and
requesting credit.

A letter was sent on Friday to inform students of their results and share information on how to access MnSCU college credit.
Please congratulate them, and celebrate the linguistic
assets our students bring to MPS!!
Japanese World Language students are planning to test for the seal purpose. I look forward to updating you on those
results later in June.
IB DP exam results will be counted toward this as well. We
will have to wait for the results to become available in summer.
Thank you for your support and work!
