Passport to College: College App Workshop August 11-13, 2015

NEW program for up to 100 current juniors to prepare their college application materials for the fall application season.  

Dozens of college admissions and financial aid representatives will join the counselors for workshops addressing the college essay, admissions interviews, application pieces, financial aid, scholarships and more.

Southwest East Building CLOSED Mondfay June 8 Through End of August















The Southwest East Building is CLOSED starting Monday, June 8.  No one will be able to enter the East Building after Friday, June 5.

Please make certain that all person items are out of the East building by the end of the school day on Friday June 5.

Southwest Addition Begin to Build


Southwest new addition to the current building.  Picture are the beginnings of the foundation to the three-story structure that will house the media center and up to 22 additional classrooms.

The project was started march 15 and completion is projected to fall of 2016.  Some parts may open this August, others in February and the entire project for the opening of school 2016.

Souhtwest Golfer Victoria Graens Qualifies for State Golf Tournament


Southwest Golfer Victoria Graens qualified for the Women’s State Golf meet, placing 2nd in Sectionals with a score of 161.  

The State meet with be held at Bunker Hills on June 9th and 10th.

Math Team and National Results Congratulations Russell

Last weekend, the American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) competition was held at these four sites around the US: Penn State University, University of Iowas, University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Georgia. For more about ARML, see www.arml.com

Minnesota brings four teams of 15 students to the Iowa site each year. 

This year, Michael Tang, a 10th grader from Edina, finished second in the nation, the highest finish ever for a Minnesota student!

Our top team, Minnesota Gold, finished 11th in the nation in Division A, the highest finish for a Minnesota team since 2003. 

Our second level team, Minnesota Maroon, finished 38th out of 92 teams, the highest finish ever for Minnesota Maroon in Division A.
