Wednesday was the IB celebration and reception for the Class of 2012 International Baccalaureate Candidates. Forty-six outstanding students and their families were honored for the commitment and dedication to move through the IB program.
The reception, in the words of coordinator Dick Schwartz "is to acknowledge and congratulate these students' families for supporting their students with guidance, patience, perseverance and love."
This four-year journey is one of scholarship, service, academic achievement and self discovery. The students enroll in classes, participate in service projects, reach out and support others and are examined by others throughout the world.
The outstanding Southwest IB program would not be possible without the support and efforts of many parents, numerous volunteers, hundreds of testing proctors and, perhaps, most of all, Mary Costello.
Congratulations to all the International Baccalaureate Candidates and their families. We are proud of you!
