Barnes & Noble Galleria Hosting Mini Maker Faire

MINI MAKER FAIRE

On November 6-8 Barnes & Noble Galleria is holding a Mini Maker Faire. Here is a brief description of the Mini Maker Faire at BN Galleria:
A Maker Faire is a community-based learning event that inspires everyone to become a Maker and connect with people and projects in their local community. These events are for people of all ages and backgrounds who have a desire to create, learn and share, and who bring a DIY mindset to technology.
Our Mini Maker Faire will feature hands-on learning and making opportunities in the areas of ideation, creative thinking, art, design, construction and innovation, as well as programming, coding and 3D printing – with activities for children ages five and up to adults.
The Mini Maker Faire will run throughout the weekend of November 6-8 and will consist of three main areas:
  • The Make Workspace – where customers will experience the latest technologies in 3D printing, robotics, coding, programming and more.
  • Meet the Makers – the place in store where customers will hear from leaders, top brands and local makers about the latest trends in designing, building, creating and making.
  • Make & Collaborate – where customers can immerse themselves in the process of ideation, rapid prototyping, circuitry and more.

I would appreciate it if you could pass this information on to your science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art departments.  We're hoping that your students and educators will join us on November 6-8.  If you are a STEM School, this would be a great time to schedule a Bookfair Fundraiser at our store because there will be tons of built-in activities that your students and parents would enjoy.  Please let me know if you are interested in scheduling a bookfair or have questions.

Also, if there is a "Maker" in your midst, we'd love to have them participate in our Meet the Makers portion of the weekend (an educator, a robotics team, etc.)  Please pass along my contact information if you wish.

Best,

Lin Salisbury, Community Business Development Manager

Barnes & Noble at the Galleria, 3225 West 69th Street, Edina, MN 55435
