The Personal Project Exhibition and Celebration for
students took place on Tuesday, May 16.
The personal project is an opportunity
for 10th grade students to research and create an independent, creative project
on any topic they choose. The exhibition was a way for students to showcase
their projects and provide 9th grade students the opportunity to learn about
topics, ask questions and find inspiration.
This year’s projects were unique:
from running a marathon and building a guitar to writing poetry and
choreographing a musical.
After the exhibition, students were invited to the
Southwest Stadium for a pizza party. The wood-fired oven ‘project’ created by
Mr. Flandrick was used to launch the Personal Projects for this group of
students last spring, so it was only fitting that they celebrate by making
their own pizzas.
The personal project takes place every year and is
certainly an exciting process. It will be great to see how current 9th grade
students approach their projects next year.
