Afternoon!
As
the school year comes to a close the athletics department would like to update
you on some positive news!
In
Boys Tennis:
Edison
Sophomore Logan Couillard plays in the Minnesota State High School League State
Tennis Tournament. His first match is Thursday June 8th at
Reed Sweatt Tennis Center in south Minneapolis starting at 8:00am.
In
Girls Track the following women will represent MPS at the June 9th
Minnesota State High School League State Track and Field Meet held at Hamline
University:
·
North
High School Junior T’Nia Riley will defend her state championship in the 100
meter dash in addition to competing in the 200 meter dash.
·
The
Edison’s Girls Team will defend their state championship with the following
runners:
o
Senior
Jada Lewis in the 100 and 200 meter sprints
o
Junior
Jia Lewis in the 100 and 200 meter sprints
o
Jia
Lewis, Chauntel Fleming, Jada Lewis and Linda Jenaphanh will compete in the 4 x
100 meter relay
·
Washburn
Sophomore Emily Covert has advanced in both the 3200 meter run and the 1600
meter run and Washburn Junior Charlotte DeVaughn will compete in the 100 meter
dash.
·
Southwest
Junior Alison Rosengren will run the 400 meter dash.
In
Boys Track the following men will represent MPS at the June 9th

Senior Malachi Lossow will run in both the 100 meter and 200 meter
sprints.

Southwest
Senior Cameron Ramnarine will compete in the Triple Jump
·
Edison
Junior Montrea Talabi will race in the 400 meter dash and Edison Senior Andrew
Swenson will race in the 800 meter run
·
The
Washburn 4 x 800 meter relay team of Juniors Matt Cota, Ben Perry, Kaj Johnson
and Senior Luke Peterson has advanced to the State Tournament.

North
Junior Corleone Powell-Smith will compete in the Long Jump
We
