Tax Time - Check Out Your end-of-the-year Totals

Have you looked at your total for charitable contributions for the 2011 tax year? Is there a balance that would do tons of good for lots of kids?

The Southwest Education Fund is a financial supporter of the outstanding program offered at Southwest High School. All donated funds support the educational needs of students. Contrary to rumors, Southwest receives the smallest amount of funding per student of any of the Minneapolis high schools. Your financial support is critical.

Over the past five years community support has updated badly needed textbooks, purchased science consumable equipment, provided support for teacher training, supported the theater, music program and purchased art supplies. Almost all the textbooks used in special education were originally purchased with donated monetary support.

Without continuing financial support it will be impossible to maintain the outstanding high quality educational program for all students at Southwest. You make a difference.
