Southwest Grand Opening October 8, 1:30 -4:30 pm

Community Grand Opening, Open House, and Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 8, 1:30 - 4:30 Southwest's Grand Opening, Open House, and Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony--all a part of the first 75th Anniversary celebration--will take place on Saturday afternoon, October 8. Join alumni, students, parents, teachers (past and present), and community members for a great afternoon of touring the new construction and remodelling projects, enjoying refreshments baked in Southwest's new kitchen, and learning more about Southwest's history through displays. The Southwest Band will also play. All are welcome!  The Open House will be from 1:30 - 4:30 and the Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony will be at 2:00. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. Thank you to everyone who nominated alumni for the first-ever Distinguished Alumni Award. The Distinguished Alumni Committee was pleased with the outstanding candidates it had to consider. All the nominations received for alumni who did not receive the award this year will be retained and considered again next year. Congratulations to the inaugural class of Distinguished Alumni awardees: Cora Jane Blanchard '52 (deceased), Burton D.
