The Southwest High School Math Team competed in the fifth and final math team meet of the year on Monday, February 11th at Southwest High School. Six of the Minneapolis high schools and one charter school attended the meet. Southwest had the highest point total at the meet, running our undefeated streak to 31 straight meets over the course of seven years.
Some statistics from the meet.
- 126 total students from seven
schools in the Minneapolis division participated.
- 56 Southwest students
participated individually at the meet
- 50 of the Southwest students
scored at least one point. All those practices and extra copies of
practice problems have really benefited students.
- The varsity team (official
scoring team) earned 75 of a possible 136 points. We finished the season
with a total of 389 total points and finished in 14th place in
the state.
- The junior varsity team earned
63 of a possible 136 points, unofficially finishing in second place within
the division at this meet. The season total for the JV team was 249
points. That total unofficially places them in second place in the
division.
