SW School Based Clinic Drop-in Day

Greetings SW Faculty and Staff,
We are writing you to let you know that the Southwest School Based Clinic is holding a drop-in testing day for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) this Thursday February 14. The purpose of the event is to help reduce stigma and fear around getting tested and increase access to health services. Teens in Minnesota have a higher rate of STIs and lower use of health care services than the general population.

We are encouraging students to visit clinic during passing periods or lunch, and we will make every effort to be as quick and efficient as possible to reduce out of class time. We have started handing out passes to students who would like to participate. We also will send passes back with students after their clinic visit. We leave it to the teacher’s discretion whether or not a student may be excused during class time to visit the clinic.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to stop by the clinic, room E021 to talk with us in person or contact us at 668-3040.

Sincerely,
The Southwest School Based Clinic Team
Mindy Fine, Atasha Hayden, Alison Moore, & Mimi Amelang
