Sanneh Foundation -- BLAST Day 2012

Blast Day 2012 is underway with the Sanneh Foundation.
This year the southwest community will be connecting with the Haitian Initiative of the Sanneh Foundation. We will help fund the development of a soccer field in Cite Soliel, Haiti. This field will provide the time and space for a safe afterschool activity for the local school teams to use every day. We will encourage attendance at school because only students who attend school can use the field and facilities. Finally, we are starting the first ever girls soccer and sports education program. The value of providing a safe place for young Haitian women to go with regularity and control, will directly benefit the empowerment of this community as well as giving these everyday opportunities that we so often take for granted.
Every Southwest student has been given a fundraising card on which they can record ten people they shared our mission with. Please encourage your student to collect small donations from around your community. If every student raises at least $15 we can collectively surpass our goal of bettering the lives of thousands of Haitians in Cite Soliel!
December 15th, starting at 6 PM. There will be a charitable auction and student run talent show (entrance is free of charge).  The money raised will all go in the blast day fund for the Sanneh Foundation. All auction items are from local businesses and organizations. Some examples of auction items are: A signed Christian Ponder Jersey, Subscription to Calhoun Beach Club and an oriental rug from the Navab Brothers.
