Congratulations to the MPS students who participated in the
Minneapolis Public Schools National History Day Regional on Saturday, March 23,
at Anwatin Middle School.
The 2013 regional was the largest in the
competition’s history, with about 500 students from more than 20 schools
competing for a spot at the state contest. Projects ranged from exhibits on topics
like Pulitzer Prize-winning photographs and the Stonewall Riots to
documentaries on Title IX and Apple.
More than 80 students qualified for
the state competition, which will take place on Saturday, May 4, at the
University of Minnesota. MPS students will compete against 12 other Minnesota
regions for a shot at the national contest at the University of
Maryland-College Park in June.
