Well, it did happen. The first lunch in the new commons space in the center of Southwest High School. Mixed seating holds over 750 students or others during lunch or any event. There are tables and chairs, high tops and regular lunch bench tables. Something for everyone.
The Commons in the gathering place for the building. There are electric plugs everywhere and since the building is wireless, data can be gathered from all corners. Homework, research, social media and study groups are all part of the possibilities for this huge area.
The center section is open now. Furniture is being moved into offices and classrooms. Teachers and classes will be moving starting Wednesday. The entire project will be complete by August 25.
