Southwest Performing Arts at the Band Shell

In the Spotlight!

We've got date nights by the lake, another date night downtown, an opportunity for a go-getter parent, rumors of a summer show and an awesome graduation gift idea. Here's your SWPAC scoop:
How about a family/date night by the lake with great music from up-and-coming SWHS musicians? Next week is Southwest High School Music's Spring Concert Series at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. This is just such a gimme. Plus, you have multiple nights to choose from:
May 22, 7 pm  Choir Concert
May 23, 7 pm  Guitar Concert
May 24, 7 pm  Dance Concert
May 25, 7 pm  Band/Orchestra Concert
May 31, 7 pm  Jazz Concert
Suggested donation $5 students, $10 adults to support the performing arts . Thank you!

"Sweet Charity" Get Spotlight Awards! (You Get A Date Night!)

On the Monday night of June 12th, Hennepin Theatre Trust's Spotlight Showcase is at the State Theater downtown. It will include short performances by outstanding high schools, including Southwest's Sweet Charity production team and our own Bella Blackshaw as a Triple Threat Award Finalist! For a full list of Southwest's ten Spotlight awards and information on tickets (which are already in short supply) read on...

We need a go-getter for a short-term project. The PAC is in need of someone to procure advertisers for the 2017-18 performing arts programs this summer. It involves contacting about a dozen current businesses to renew their ads as well as solicit local businesses. Relatively short-term project using existing templates, over email and phone. Please let us know if you can help by contacting us at swhsperformingartscouncil@gmail.com. Thanks!

Summer Theater Opportunity Details Coming Soon
Psst. There's a lot of work going on behind the scenes for a summer production of Urinetown that your kids are going to want to be a part of, and you're going to want to see. Watch this newsletter for more details soon.
