The Southwest Speech Team participated in the Centennial Invitational Speech Team this past weekend. With over 24 schools represented and over 800 speakers in competition, the tournament was a warm-up for sectionals and the state contests.
Three SW students moved to the awards part of the tournament.
Mikaela Kurpierz earned honorable mention in Humorous Interpretation
Aswar Rahman earned 4th place in finals Extemporaneous Speaking and
John Dahl won first placed in honors finals in Discussion
Congratulations to all who participated. Next week is Fridley invitational.
