Parking at Southwest is a Challenge

Parking at Southwest is a CHALLENGE

We all want to be part of a happy, cooperative and safe community.  Southwest students and staff want to be part of a positive neighborhood.  Parking is a continuing major headache!

As you attend events at Southwest at all hours of the day and throughout the weekend, please pay attention to the parking signs and the rules for parking.

Most of the streets around Southwest have limited parking - some with restricted hours - some with permit only at certain hours and no parking.

There are some signs and in some cases no signs about other parking rules.  You have to leave 30 feet (or more) between your car and a stop sign at the corner.  You can not block a driveway.  That includes the apron on each side of the driveway.  Alleys cannot be used a through streets.

On the Minneapolis City website are the rules and regulations for parking and many others.

Paying a fine for illegal parking gets expensive.  Having your car towed is even more expensive.

Pay attention to where you park your car day and night and on weekends.  Let's be good neighbors.
