Southwest Front Yard a Work in Progress

A bare spot in the front that could be the home of Hostas
If you are splitting your Hostas have some to spare, we can find them a home.

And the limbs coming falling down
Tree trimming to allow more sun for the grass
and healthy for the tree

Long overdue, the front yard at Southwest High School is receiving some attention.  Yes, the grass is growing and hopefully will be a green wonder in the spring.  Trees are wonder and we want them to be healthy and a nice addition to the looks of the building.

Workers spend the day working on the trees out front and in the court yard.  They have the expertise and equipment.

Now we need your help.  First, do you have Hostas that you are willing to share?  as you can see from the photos and visits to the school, there are lots of places for them.

Second, do you have time to volunteers some labor hours?  We want to plant the Hostas and finish the work in the court yard.  If you have some time, please email Joan Leverenz our volunteer coordinator.  We will be putting together a work schedule before the weather gets too cold and snowy.

Third -- what do you think about benches in front of the wall in front of the school.  There is open space on both sides of the main entrance.  What do you think about adding mental benches in those open areas between the wall and the sidewalk?
