Monday - Warm and Humid and Classes Going ON

The weather is not necessarily our friend this season.  I want to reserve final judgement until January.  We may be wanting a return of this weather if the predictions of a "bad" winter comes true.

The school day started at bit on the cool side - 74 and rainy.  But the humidity is increasing and not the temperature.  Even at this time (12:17 pm) it is 77 but feels like 82.  The "real" heat is suppose to be coming around 4 pm.  Once it is that late, it start to cool off.

We recognize the heat has its problems.  Some students react to it differently than others.  Those with respiratory conditions have more difficulties than others.  Yes, a parent call will result in an excused absence for that student.  Every student reacts differently and we understand that.  We respect the opinion of the parent in knowing the physical limitations of the student.

At the same time, education is continuing.  We have so little actual time with the students, each day is important and we attempt to move the process forward.  Classes are continuing.  Students may suggest to you otherwise, and I know that their review of the typical day is exciting every day.

If you have questions about what is happening (or not) in your child's class, please ask that question tomorrow evening at Open House starting at 6:30 pm.

Reminder -- there is no beginning program in the auditorium.  We start with first period at 6:30 pm.  Schedules are available from your child (the easiest way) or at school starting at 6:00 pm.
