Enrollment Plan Adiopted - Expansion Coming

The Board of Education approved the Five-Year Student Enrollment Projection Plan at its December 10th Board meeting.  That involves exciting plans to meet the needs of students in all parts of the city.

Specifically for Southwest the approval means the start of planning for the expansion of the current building to meet the needs of current and additional student.  The anticipated completion date is the fall of 2016.

Construction is scheduled to start at the break in the weather this spring.  The planning started several months ago.  Now is the excitement of working out the specific details in the next couple months.  As new information arrives, we will communicate.

Community meetings will be held with exact dates at this moment unknown.  Thank you to all community members for their continuing support of Southwest.  This is a great opportunity with great challenges as well.  We will need your best thinking and continuing support.

Thank you to the Southwest Foundation and the dedication and inspirational Southwest Alumni.

We are Southwest.

What great news! Thanks to Bill Smith for his wonderful leadership, which has not only helped to make this addition a needed reality, but has also been a key part of why SWHS is the #1 high school in Minnesota.
