Community Partnership School Application

Southwest High School completed the application process and site visits in application to become a Minneapolis Community Partnership School.  The purpose of the application was to become an autonomous school with the district.  Within such an agreement Southwest would follow its own guidelines for staffing, budget, time and curriculum.  In General, Southwest supports full development and implementation of International Baccalaureate framework.

The application was not approved by the Community Partnership Schools Committee.  Thus, the school will not move forward in the CPS process.

However, Southwest will continue its task force work in engaging staff, students, families and community members to empower students to prepare to be the leaders of tomorrow, to be successful with 21st century skills and continue their learning in career, college and life.  Excellence in education for all students at Southwest continues to be the quest.

Updates will be posted as the work continues.  If you questions or comments, please email.
