Southwest Foundation Supports Southwest Students

With Southwest Foundation and community support, Southwest High School sent 37 students to an international Model UN Conference in Chicago this month, joining students from around the world. The intense negotiating challenged all the students and three students, McLean Cozine, Nathaniel Larson, and Weston Lowry, were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Committees they served.
Southwest Social Studies teacher and Model UN advisor Robert Kohnert says, "It was a great experience and I am very happy with how our students handled themselves . . . I am looking forward to even more conferences next year."
Read more about the conference here.
The Southwest Foundation funds the Model UN Club and other clubs and opportunities at Southwest to give students experiences outside the classroom that will also inspire and improve their academic work. Other clubs and activities include Alianza, Amnesty International, Black Student Union, Feminism Club, Green Team, GSA, Healthy Youth Peer Educators, International Club, Muslim Student Alliance, Political Activism Club and many more artistic, cultural, performance, writing, and leadership opportunities.

We need your support to give Southwest's great students life-changing experiences like this. Please help us meet our goal of $110,000 which will be used to support academics, athletics and the arts for every student at Southwest.

We've raised over $64,000 and still have $46,000 to go!
