The Minneapolis Board of Education will host meetings on February 1, 2 and 3 to introduce the community to Bernadeia Johnson, current Deputy Superintendent of the Minneapolis Public Schools and single candidate for the superintendent position being vacated by Dr. William Green on June 30, 2010.
The board invites members of the community to attend any of the three meetings. At each meeting, Johnson will introduce herself to the public and present her vision for MPS. A question and answer session will also be held. The board encourages attendees to engage in an informal meet and greet with Johnson and members of the board at the beginning of the meetings.
Childcare, food and interpretation in Hmong, Somali and Spanish will be provided. To reserve a spot for childcare, please call the MPS Office of Communications at (612) 668-0230.
The Board of Education will conduct a formal interview of Johnson on February 4 and vote on her candidacy at its regularly scheduled business meeting on February 9.
