Second Semester

No big changes for second semester except for about 140 students not counting the normal semester course students. We had two social studies sections which resulted in the change of schedules for about 60 students. Not the easiest thing to do to 9th graders, but should make an better fit with smaller sections.

Two changes in the English department. By now, the teachers and students should have settled in. In both cases it looks like we will continue to offer quality educational opportunities to students so that should be a positive move.

It is a new beginning for many. There are not many but there are some semester courses left in the high school -- physical education, health, art, computer courses, theater and a couple others. We do not have lots of electives for students and the six-period day definitely limits those opportunities.

If your students have new teachers this semester, hopefully you can find an opportunity to meet him/her. I am confident your son/daughter is going to have a very positive educational program again this semester.
