Viva City, a district-wide arts festival showcasing student achievement in visual and performing arts, is running now through March 14. The Comprehensive Arts department would like to invite all community members to attend as an opportunity to show your support of our students and schools.
Over 400 students have been selected to perform at Orchestra Hall or display their visual art and poetry in a professional exhibition at the Minneapolis Central Library as part of the event.
Below is a schedule of upcoming Viva City events:
WHAT: Viva City Middle School Art Exhibition
WHEN: On display now through February 9.
WHERE: Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall
WHAT: Viva City High School Art Exhibition Opening
WHEN: Thursday, February 18, from 5 -7 p.m. Exhibit on display February 18 – March 14
WHERE: Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall
WHAT: Viva City Band Performances by students in grades 4-12, hosted by T. Mychael Rambo, local actor, musician and educator
WHEN: Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Avenue
