The Southwest speech team participated in its first tournament of the season at Chanhassen High School this past weekend.
One junior, one sophomore and one freshman won honors and were recognized with awards on stage at the conclusion of the day's events. The respective categories were poetry interpretation and humorous interpretation.
A successful beginning for the team with a full season ahead.
If there are students interested in joining the team there is still time. Practices are Tuesday and Thursday right after school in room E103.
The team is especially looking for students in the categories - Discussion and Great Speeches. See Dr. Smith or come to practice for more information.
