Southwest Speech team participated in the Hill-Murray Frost Bowl Tournament this past Saturday with dozens of other area schools.
Of the 13 categories in Minnesota speech contests, Southwest students won awards in five of the categories.
Extemporaneous Speaking - Vincent Puzak - third; Nolan Savage - second; and Aswar Rahman first.
Humorous Interpretation - Nathalie Young - third and Mikaela Kurperz First. Chloe Brevik-Rich missed placing by 1 point.
Informative Speaking - Maya Lassiter - third place
Original Oratory - Brodin Jentz - first place.
Story telling - Phoebe Chastain - Second Place
