Student Congress on Economic Issues

Minnesota 2010 Student Congress on Economic Issues.

Southwest students compete in the annual event the past weekend. After a brief period of preparation with new teacher Mr. Ralston, the team won an award was for their outstanding performance in answering the question of how students should pay for college.

The winning team was comprised of students from Southwest, Roosevelt and Edison - all teams were a blend of two or three schools.

Other questions tackled by the students included the benefits and challenges of having a weak, strong or floating dollar, and a similar analysis of a health care system that is free-market, government run single payer, or a hybrid.

Congratulaltions to the team members and Mr. Ralston
