Subject: Explosion at East 60th St. and Nicollet Ave.

Today an explosion occurred at East 60th St. and Nicollet Ave, a few blocks from Windom School. Our emergency team is currently determining whether Windom will remain at its campus in Code Yellow Lockdown or whether an evacuation is necessary. Kenny, Anthony and Armatage were placed on Code Yellow Lockdown.
While this incident did not take place on our school campus, we followed our security procedures and determined that it would be in the best interest of student safety for students at sites near to the explosion to remain indoors for the rest of the day. Instruction will continue as usual, but students will remain in their classrooms. Minneapolis emergency personnel are responding to the matter. Please note that bus transportation may be delayed today due to traffic rerouting.
Maintaining a safe environment for our students is a top priority. We will keep you informed of any further information we receive.
