Southwest Community Education Updates
Our Winter General Adult Education Program will begin the week of
January 28 with over 125 classes, winter x-c & snowshoe trips, and two
special events:
- Free
self-defense workshops for women & girls (12 & older) on Monday,
January 7, and Tuesday, January 8, from 7:00-8:15 p.m. Register by calling
612-668-3100.
- Family
Sock Hop (50's dance) on Friday, March 1st.
Swimming Lesson and Lap Swim
Our Winter Swimming Lessons & Lap Swim will resume the week of
January 14
Southwest Green Team Updates:
- The
Green Team will meet this TUESDAY, December 11 instead of Monday, because
of the Basilica Choir Concert. Topic: nutrition, food additives &
processed foods.
- Green
Team members Celia Hallan, Drew Simon, Ellie Kirkpatrick, and Haley King
delivered 24 fleece blankets made by the Green Team to the Crisis Nursery
Center this week. They met with the staff and had a tour of the facility.
- 25
Green Team members will be going to Feed My Starving Children as a
Community Service Project on Monday, December 17. A potluck will precede
this event.
- The
last tutoring session at Lake Harriet Campus will be this Thursday,
December 13. We will resume tutoring on Thursday, January 10 after Winter
Break.
