Let Me Introduce the Southwest Members of the Band

On clarinet and harmonica--Bill Lee, English
On gut bucket--Mike Ries, Media Center
On guitar, kazoo and mandolin--Alex Hoselton, Social Studies
On slide guitar --Dan Balson, Social Studies
On saw and trumpet -- Steve Gehrenbeck-Miller, World Languages (Spanish)
On jug -- Joe Sayles, Special Education
On washboard -- Bob Rees, English

This Saturday we'll be competing for top honors and a pancake griddle in the 33rd Annual Minneapolis Battle of Jug Bands at the Nomad Bar 501 Cedar Avenue South Minneapolis at 3pm.
We're right after Show Me Your Jugs and Whiskey Bob Taylor and the 12 Steps. We're doing a union song, a traditional song, The Hockey Puck Blues and an Otis Redding like it's never been done before.

You are welcome to cheer us on to victory or come laugh at our ignominious defeat. It's always great fun. We do this every year.

We're called The Careless Lovers Union Band.

Yours truly,
On tenor banjo--David West (and though the rest of my department cringes when I say it), Fine Arts
