Southwest 2016 Homecoming Celebration of Community

The first major dance for the new Southwest commons was 2016 Homecoming.  Continuing the tradition, homecoming is the best attended event of the school year.  The students and staff celebrate the opening of another school year and continue to develop community.

The three-story atrium provides fantastic views of the fun event.  Over 1,100 students returned to school on a Saturday to be with friends, enjoy a safe evening, hear some music and dance the night away.

Student Council with the help of some friends sponsors the event.  The entire spirit week attempts to be fun for all, inclusive of the entire student body and a memorable event for all.  Homecoming is a tradition of unity and history.  Bringing the past into the present for a better future.

The homecoming week-long celebration moved through pepfest on Friday at the stadium announcing all the fall sports teams.  Experienced the chilly football game on Friday night.  The Grand Opening of the new Southwest was an added attraction this year.  During the same time, the initial Alumni Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Southwest Foundation, enshrined seven alumni members.
