“This is what PipJazz is all about--putting outstanding, well trained young artists on stage with world-class musicians and watching them go to the next level of growth…” – Pippi Ardennia

In November 2011, the PipJazz Sundays concert season presented its first Youth Showcase, sponsored in part by the Twin Cities Jazz Society. Since then, PipJazz Youth has been part of every monthly concert, with TCJS and Walker West Music Academy rotating selection of the youth guest artists. On November 11th, the second Youth Showcase will be featured along with host Pippi Ardennia and the PipJazz house band. Again sponsored in part by TCJS, the concert will be held at 5 pm in the Weyerhaeuser Auditorium in the lower level of Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul.

The goals for the PipJazz Sundays’ Youth Program include 1) to provide opportunities for youth in the Twin Cities community to attend the concert series and experience world-class musicians; and 2) to provide performance opportunities for talented local jazz students as a priceless learning experience as well as a broader experience for the audience. Toward meeting the first goal, PipJazz provides blocks of free tickets for middle, high school and college students to attend the monthly concerts, provides free tickets to youth under age 12, and discounted tickets to students 12-18.
