Free Opportunity for Students, Ages 11-18, to Launch Experiments into Space!

Free Opportunity for Students, Ages 11-18, to Launch Experiments into Space!

idoodlelearning, inc, with support from the Colorado Space Grant Consortium is offering a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) focused global education program at no cost for students ages 11-18. Cubes in Space™ provides students an opportunity to design and compete to launch an experiment into space.

Using formal or informal learning environments, students and educators will be exposed to engaging online content and activities in preparation for the design and development of an experimental payload to be integrated into a small cube. These cubes will be launched via a Terrier-Orion sounding rocket from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Va., in late June 2016. A second flight opportunity is on a high altitude balloon launched by our partner IdeaTech from a facility in Medellin, Colombia in May 2016.

Leveraging the excitement of space exploration, students and educators will learn about the methodology for taking an idea from design through to review process and then to flight and final experiment validation. Throughout the experience, students will understand the relationships between science and engineering concepts and will acquire key 21st century skills necessary for success in a highly connected, global society.

The deadline for program registration is January 11, 2016 For more information, visit http://www.cubesinspace.com Questions about this program should be directed to info@cubesinspace.com.
