Southwest Clubs and Activities News

Comic Book Club:  Come discuss books, tv shows, movies, and your favorite characters!
Meet every other Monday in Mr. Jagusch’s room (N133)  after school until 4:15pm 
All are welcome!

Join the DJ Club.
Make friends, have fun, listen to music, and learn to DJ. The club meets every Thursday after school in room W109.  The DJ Club works with other SWHS student clubs and organizations to provide DJ services for their dances and special events.  More information?  Chess Club
The chess club is meeting again in Room W319, Mr. Fresco’s room, every Wednesday after school until 4:30. Stop by and bring a friend. Any player of any skill level is welcomed.


Free After School Yoga!
Every Wednesday afternoon from 3:10 – 4:10, Certified Yoga Instructor Pamela Burditt will offer her services to Southwest Students and Staff free of charge.  Yoga will be conducted in the Southwest Dance Studio (Room W214).  Everyone is welcome!

Spanish Club
The Spanish Club meets every other Wednesday in room 218 after school. .

CAS requirement for Juniors
Juniors anticipating earning the IB diploma or medallion, please make an appointment with Ms Ledman  (room 127 or lisa.ledman@mpls.k12.mn.us) or Ms Jevne (room 31 or rachel.jevne@mpls.k12.mn.us) to make an appointment to go over CAS requirements.  CAS  has changed for this year's juniors and requires a meeting at the beginning of your junior year.

ASL Club
ASL (American Sign Language) Club will be meeting two Mondays a month.  All are welcome! Come learn ASL, practice what you know and meet new people! Jan 25, Feb 8, 22, March 7, 21, April 11, May 9, and 16 in Room 314,  3:10-4:00

Japanese Culture Club
Meets Wednesdays from 3:05 to 4:30 in Room 219.  If you are interested in Japanese Culture, Japanese movies/amine, or J-Quiz (Japanese language competition for high school students), please join us!

ALIANZA meets Thursdays 3:15 - 4:30 in room 108.
