This Saturday Nov. 8th was our first tournament with our first topic--The Obama Administration's efforts to combat terrorism have improved global security.
Varsity debaters Henry Aoki and Russell Pekala earned FIRST PLACE! They went undefeated in four rounds in the largest varsity division this year with 32 teams. Henry also finished in second place with speaker points. Lily Ren and Ben Stevens went 3-1 and finished in 8th place! Ben also earned 8th in speaker points!
Junior Varsity debaters Rewan ABdelwahab and Holden Platt finished fourth, going undefeated in four rounds!
In their first debate this year Ben Pekala and Jonah Edelman finished in 3rd place in the Novice division going 3-1.
Novice B division in our league is formed in the middle of the season for a fair debate between brand new debaters and their counterparts. Adi Kalale and John Christopherson finished in 6th place with a 3-1 record!
