Busy weeks ahead

Hopefully this was a great first week of school for the entire family. The journey continues.

We will continue to make necessary adjustments this week. We want student in the correct level of classes. We want to challenge each student but we also do not want to set students up for failure. We are in good shape with class sizes except for about four. In the top level world languages there is not much to be done but it has been that way forever. All the rest of the classes except for the four others are running between. 35-38. There will be exceptions. 9th grade classes, special education and ESL classes are smaller.

We started identifying academic struggling students this passed Friday. You may get a telephone call encouraging your support. We want students to be success from the start. Homework should be happening. It wil not be a regular every day in every class but within a week your son or daughter has an assignment in every class. These are meaningful practice exercises or assignments. Homework is important.

If you have questions please contact your student's counselor or Assistant Principal. This is going to be another fantastic school year.
