What is a good observation?

In the science world that is a critical question. Experiment after experiment rests on the strength of the observations. Thus, it is important our current learning science students and future career people know what that is.

So off the lake. A brisk walk to the lake with three classes of 9th grade Biology to review the trial and errors of observation. What is it that we all see and agree upon? What about of description is necessary? How do I put my observations into words, orally and printed that are free of opinions and pre-drawn conclusions?

What a beautiful day. Cooler temperatures, bright sun free from rain. This was the day to be scanning the water and shore to find the right words.
