Wednesday at Southwest you missed one of the best events of homecoming week. The Ironman Volleyball Match between the Junior and Senior Boys.
The Seniors won in 5 games, but it was exciting until the very end. 2 games went to extra points including the 5th match.
The coaches of both squads should get a big round next time you see them, Imani Mansfield and Malia Svoboda for the Juniors, and Elise Bernier and Emma Peacha-Singer for the Seniors.
They taught the game of volleyball to both rag-tag groups, in about 4 or 5 practices each. Some of the practices were as early as 6:30 am (and both the coaches and athletes showed up).
Tomorrow is a big day as well. Football plays in Duluth, to replace the Roosevelt Varsity Game.
