Some MPLS activities Cancelled

Announcement from District offices:

As you know, MPS today canceled afternoon kindergarten, High Five, ECFE and ECSE programs, as well as community trips for special education students. In addition, all after-school activities in MPS buildings for which MPS provides transportation will be canceled. This includes Community Education youth enrichment classes, Area Learning Center after-school activities and MPS athletic events.

Minneapolis Kids sites will remain open until parents pick up their children. Community Education adult evening classes and adult enrichment activities will operate as normal. Special evening events that do not involve after-school busing, such as the Viva City fringe performance, will continue.

Decisions about basketball sectional play are made by the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL). The Roosevelt boys’ basketball game at Holy Angels has been canceled by the MSHSL, but the sectional games for South boys’ basketball, Southwest boys’ basketball and Washburn boys’ and girls’ basketball are still scheduled to take place. Parents should contact their school’s athletic office for updates.
