Students on their home safely

Good afternoon,

 

I am writing to inform you of a situation in South Minneapolis that may affect your students. The City of Minneapolis has established a perimeter around the area of 39^th to 42^nd avenues and Xerxes to Zenith avenues. The perimeter will affect transportation. Any bus that departed before 2:00 pm will be rerouted to 39^th and York. All other students riding yellow buses are to be held at school. Metro Transit students can board Metro buses as usual because they will be rerouted to 39^th and York if there stops are within the perimeter.

A natural gas build up in the sewer system is the cause of the police perimeter. The City of Minneapolis is working to release the build up. There is no imminent danger at this time.
