The (K.)N.E.W. MN Youth
Poetry Slam semifinals, presented by TruArtSpeaks, begins tonight Monday March
4 at the Capri Theater
from 5-7 PM. Four Southwest Poets will be competing: Laresa
Avent, Fatima Camara, Jalisa Hunter and Angelica Espinoza.
The second semifinal is on Monday March 11 at The Whole from 7-9 PM. Southwest Poets Tamera Larkins and Nazeem Cunningham will be competing.
Come out and support these young Southwest poets. You can also financially support and sponsor a young poet's trip to compete in the international BRAVE NEW VOICES Youth Poetry Slam Festival (BNV) this summer in Chicago.
