ACT Preparation Hints

This email will focus on the components of the ACT exam, which is much like the Pre-ACT PLAN test you took in grade 10.  Remember:  ALL JUNIORS WILL BE TAKING THE ACT EXAM AT SOUTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL ON MARCH 19TH, 2013 FREE OF CHARGE.
The March 19th ACT exam structure is composed of 4 timed sections.
English:  45 minutes/75 multiple choice questions.  (Stresses Grammar)
Math:     60 minutes/60 multiple choice questions.  (Up to Trigonometry)
Reading: 35 minutes/40 multiple choice questions.   (Four passages, one each of Prose Fiction,        
          Social Science, Humanities, and Natural Science)
Science: 35 minutes/40 multiple choice questions.  (Charts, Experiments)

There is NO WRITING section given on the March 19th exam.

Other items to consider are: Bringing sharpened #2 pencils (Mechanical Pencils are not allowed), and a graphing calculator.

PHOTO Identification:  You must be able to present either a state issued, or school ID on exam day that verifies who you are.
