V-Day One Billion Rising Stone Arch Bridge

A number of my Beginning Dance students and two of their upper-level dance peers have been working on a piece they will be presenting at the V-Day One Billion Rising Event that is happening TODAY from 3-7 PM on the Stone Arch Bridge off of Downtown Minneapolis.  These kids are volunteering their after school time to raise awareness about and try to put an end to violence against women - domestically and internationally.  They've worked hard these last several days to learn not just the one piece that we'll be performing (we're on the "stage" at 5:00), but also learning a piece that Debbie Allen (of Fame fame) choreographed which will be danced at 5:30 by everyone in attendance!  I'll have the full list of participants to share tomorrow, but invite anyone with the free time to bring their Valentine (or themselves - it's a perfect anti-Valentines event!) down to the Stone Arch Bridge by 5:00 to cheer on our Southwest Dancers!

Peace,

Emliy Meyer, Dance Teacher
