Another week

The game ended Friday and the purple and white have to wait another year to see if they can break the Washburn hold on the football victory.

The end of the game was a scare with one of our players down. Having an injury is always scary. We know it can happen but always hope that it doesn't. One of our players was transported to a hospital from the game.

The emergency crew who attended to him were quick, professional and caring. There is never a good time to have an injury, but both rescue and fire personnel who responded were fantastic in their handling of the situation. We are fortunate to have these services in the city.

The fans were well behaved from what we can tell. There is always a sense of disappointment with a loss. The game was well attended by both sides. There was good spirit and cheering. It was a beautiful fall evening.

Well, we wait for another year. Southwest is one of the Football City Conference Champions!
