Every event is a significant drama at this point. Tonight at Washburn, the Lakers football team goes after the Washburn Millers. This could be the end of a 43 year draught. After defeating South at their Homecoming, the Lakers are in line to be another Homecoming spoiler with a defeat of Washburn at their Homecoming. Game time is 7 pm at Washburn.
Boys Soccer won 3-0 and will continue with play at Southwest field on Saturday at 1:00.
Volleyball defeated Roosevelt in 3 games and continue to dominate the conference.
Girls Swimming won the City Championship earlier this week.
Cross Country is set for an exciting city competition this Tuesday at Lake Nokomis with a start at 4:00 pm
Sports are an important part of the high school experience. Kids have Facebook bragging rights for several days after a big win. And there is a brief moment of sorrow with a big loss. Come out and cheer on your favorite team and support the purple and white.
