Championship Competition

Friday was a great day in Southwest Athletics.
Girls Volleyball won in Section 1/4 final action, moving on to the Semi-finals Monday at Edina. There they will compete against Hopkins. This is a rematch, in the first meeting the Lakers won in Three games.

In Cross Country Sections
Robin Fassett-Carman got 6th, and the girls team got 7th
Kamal Berhe took 7th, and the boys team took 5th overall.
Both Robin and Kamal advance to the State Meet at St. Olaf

Boys Soccer in the State Quarterfinals defeated Moundsview 1-0. They now advance to the state semi-finals Tuesday at noon in the Mall of America Field, (Metrodome). The Supervisor and AD at Park HS said that in the 6 years they have been hosting State 1/4 finals that last night was by far the biggest and best fans he has ever seen. Scoring for the Lakers was Junior, Michal Pulkrabek. The Lakers are now 21-0 with only two goals against this season.

Thank you to the dozens of staff, and hundreds of students in attendance to support all of the teams this season.

As we look to this week there is lots of excited athletes still in competition
With Swimming going strong, Cross country, Volleyball, and Soccer still moving forward, it is a great time to come and support them outside of the class room.

Thanks again to everyone for their support last night,

Ryan Lamberty, AD
