Southwest Debate Team started the season at the Rose Bowl in Roseville High School Invitational. Arguably a fantastic start, three teams walked to the stage for honors.
Out of the 55 teams entered, two Southwest teams comprised of Jaisha Syeda and Sumana Al Gharbi and Sophia Deady and Youi Yang were honored in the Novice division with three wins.
Finishing the tournament with an undefeated record and second place was the Southwest team of Avi Gori and Mariah Oxley.
